Shotokan - The Journey. An SSKA Video
The Southern Shotokan Karate Association has produced this programme. Its purpose is to try and bring traditional Shotokan karate, with all its inherent values, back to the prominence it enjoyed in the 1970's. The values of physical wellbeing and character development are basic components of Shotokan, as well as the more dynamic and fiery aspects so often over emphasized by movie makers.
Whatever area your interest lies in, self-defence; fitness; good family activity, or perhaps deeper and more philosophical interests in the art, at least give it a try. This short programme has simply touched on the most obvious benefits of the art, and only by enrolling at a recognized and properly controlled dojo, can you hope to gain a fuller picture of this fascinating art.
