Other Karate Styles
The are dozens of karate styles that have come down to us over the last 100 years or so. Below is a very brief list of the main styles (ryu).
Shotokan-ryu **
Goju-ryu **
Wado-ryu **
Shito-ryu **
** These are the four styles of traditional Japanese karate recognised by Federation of All Japan Karatedo Organization or FAJKO, which is an independent governing body in Japan that monitors the four recognized traditional styles of Japanese karate.
