Training Program
Every quarter, or three months, your karate training will include various elements of the following, in accordance to your grade and what is required from you for your next test. The basics of which can be found in your Syllabus.
Kihon (basic kicks, blocks, strikes, punches & stances)
Kata (5th Kyu & above to include Brown Belt kata. 4th Kyu & above can attend FREE Instructor Courses)
Kumite (including reactive & pre-emptive training. & intuition)
Kime - timing, focus, breathing, proper relaxation, development of Power & Speed with Control etc.
Bunkai - application and interpretation of kata
Pad training - practicing kicks & punches etc using different sized pads for focus & technique.
Weapons - self-defence techniques against attacks with various weapons
Self Defence/Breakaway Skills - using realistic street scene scenarios.
Conflict Management/Personal Security - psychology of what happens during various types of attack & how to deal with the situation
History & Tradition - emphasis given on where karate came from, why it was developed & the Real purpose of its use.
Dojo Etiquette - proper behaviour in & outside the dojo.
Advanced techniques - advanced but practical combinations of kicks, blocks, strikes, punches.
Technique - proper use of hip rotation, finishing moves, Speed & most importantly Control etc.
