More Info Shimoda Takeshi was an expert in Kendo, he was also a student of Ninjutsu. With Funakoshi Gichin as his Sensei he also studied karate. During Funakoshi's travels to Japan, he would accompany him, with Funakoshi Yoshitaka, giving demonstrations and lectures on the martial arts. It was after one of these demonstrations that Shimoda Takeshi fell ill and died at the age of 33. | |||
