Ten No Kata - Ura

The Kata of the Universe

This form was introduced along with the Taikyoku kata by Funakoshi Sensei. It consists of two complimentary parts, front (Omote) or part 1 and back (Ura) or part 2, and the form is designed to be used equally well as a kumite form. Front (Omote) is used in individual training and back (Ura) in training with an opponent in matching (kumite). Funakoshi Sensei always hoped that the student would practice it seriously until it became a part of him.
